Omagh refuge was opened in 1987 in response to urgent need for vital support and accommodation to women & children affected by domestic violence in our community Women’s Aid is the lead voluntary organization in Northern Ireland addressing domestic violence and providing services for women and children. The Women’s Aid movement in Northern Ireland began in 1975 and is made up of ten local Women’s Aid groups, they are all members of Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland. Omagh Women’s Aid provides a quality based service to women and children affected by all forms of domestic violence. Our workers support women in taking control of their own lives and in making their own decisions. Our vision is to eliminate all forms of domestic violence.
