Mae Gwasanaethau Dioddefwyr yn cynnig cymorth emosiynol ac ymarferol ar gyfer dioddefwyr trosedd, tystion ac aelodau o’r teulu sydd wedi eu heffeithio, hyd yn oed os nad yw’r heddlu wedi cael gwybod am y drosedd. Rydyn ni’n cynnig cymorth dros y ffôn ac wyneb yn wyneb ac arfau atal trosedd i arwain pobl a’u cynorthwyo i ddod dros eu profiad. Os oes angen i ddioddefydd neu dyst gael ei gyfeirio at asiantaeth arall, byddwn ni’n gwneud hynny gyda’u caniatâd.
Mae presenoldeb Dioddefwyr a Thystion mewn llys yn hollbwysig ar gyfer sicrhau y ceir cyfiawnder.
Mae Swyddogion Gofal Tystion penodol yn gweithredu fel pwynt cyswllt sengl o’r gwrandawiad cyntaf i’r ddedfryd, gan roi’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf i ddioddefwyr a thystion am gynnydd a chanlyniad yr achos. Cynhelir asesiad llawn o anghenion gyda phob dioddefydd a thyst sydd dan fygythiad neu’n agored i niwed y mae angen ei bresenoldeb yn y llys; mae hyn yn sicrhau bod cymorth wedi’i deilwra’n cael ei roi i ddioddefwyr a thystion yn ystod y broses llys.
Gall Swyddogion Gofal Tystion gyfeirio dioddefwyr a thystion ar gyfer cymorth pellach pan fod angen.
Victim Services offer personalised emotional and practical support for victims of crime, witnesses to the crime and family members that have been affected, whether the crime has been reported or not. We offer telephone, face to face support and crime prevention tools to guide and support people to recover. If a victim or witness needs to be referred to another agency we will do so with their consent.
Victim and Witness attendance in court is crucial to ensuring justice is achieved. Dedicated Witness Care Officers act as a single point of contact from first hearing through to sentencing, keeping victims and witnesses informed about the progress and outcome of the case. A full needs assessment are carried out with all victims and vulnerable and intimidated witnesses that are required to attend court; this ensures tailored support is provided to victims and witnesses during the court process. Witness Care Officers can refer victims and witnesses for further support when needed.
